About 60km south of Kuala Terengganu, the beach at Rantau Abang is the venue for the annual migration of huge leatherback turtles. Visitors have to lay in wait quietly from midnight to dawn to watch giant leatherback turtles laying eggs. These giant turtles, up to 2.5m in length and sometimes weighing more than 375kg, is indeed a phenomenal sight to behold.
